Palm Beach Insider - Christina Tarr

Portland Insider, Brier Chung, Portland

Hello there, My name is Christina Tarr, your Palm Beach Insider. I am ecstatic to share with you all that this beautiful city of Palm Beach has to offer.

Being born and raised in South Florida, I have lived in Palm Beach since I was only a year old. Only leaving the area for a brief time while I obtained my culinary degree in Orlando, Fl this is where I call home. With a background in fine dining, catering and bartending I am now moving on to smaller, private endeavors. However, it seems as though I have entered an industry, which ‘sucks you in’, and once it got its hands on me it has never let go.

Growing up in my family food and wine was one of the greatest influences, I was fortunate enough to be able to frequent some of the best restaurants from a young age, refining my fine taste for food. Along with traveling abroad, it is this that has fueled my passion for so many years. Being able to see and feel the way food and beverage affects all facets of our culture and life I try to have an understanding for what would seem odd and sometimes even not appealing.

Joining a small catering company after culinary school I had gained a tremendous amount of front and back of the house experience, something for which has given me much of my insight to the way the food and beverage scene works. From entering client’s homes in order to cook a private dinner, to holding large banquets for hundreds at the renowned Winter Equestrian Festival to organizing and coordination catering for festivals up to 10,000 people, it has let me see the vast array of possibilities in this business. In the years I spent at the company we went from a small start up caterer to a large-scale business faster than anyone could have imagined. Moving from there to front of the house in directing resources and events I have also been fortunate to do my fair share of paperwork.

It is my hopes that I can bring to all who not only reside in the Palm Beach area, but to those who will visit the endless possibilities our local food and beverage culture has to offer. From our 5 star and Zagat rated restaurants, to our great ‘budget friendly’ hangouts, and our many wine and beer bars and nightclubs Palm Beach is an ever changing food and beverage hot spot that I would like to introduce to all.
