Kevin Packer, 48, works as a General Manager for Baxters American Restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah
Before starting with the current property he spent 2 years working for The Bill White Group in Park City, Utah first running Wahso Asian Grill and then later with the 4 diamond and 4 star Grappa Italian Restaurant. Kevin was born and raised in Salt Lake City but spent 4 years working for the Kimpton Restaurant Group in San Francisco as a General Manager as well in high volume fine dining restaurants.
Mr. Packer prides himself in providing support for his entire staff and has developed many training programs for the companies he works with. He actively stays involved with the kitchens as well and loves creating menus with the executive chef. He has been in the restaurant business on and off for over 21 years and started as a dishwasher when he was 15 years old.
He is a published author of articles (travel and essays). He has consulted or worked for the opening of 5 different restaurants in Utah and California. He currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and is working on his first novel.
