Wilmington Insider

Hello. My name is Dawn and I am your Wilmington Insider. I have worked in and around the Wilmington, at various bars and restaurants, for over ten years. I know the Wilmington dining and nightlife scene inside and out. In addition to working in the industry, I like to consider myself a food and beverage connoisseur! As your insider, I will provide you with “locals’ knowledge” of all the spots, both easy to find and sometimes off the beaten path. I will also work hard to keep you up to date on new and exciting additions to the always changing Wilmington entertainment scene.
In addition to beautiful scenery, Wilmington offers a wonderful and very diverse choice of dining options. As you would expect, being on the coast enables Wilmington to be home to countless restaurants serving “fresh off the boat” seafood. For those who do not have saltwater running through veins, these restaurants offer something for everyone.
Wilmington consists of four major sections: Wrightsville Beach, Carolina/Kure Beach, Downtown, and Mid-town (the area between the coast and the Cape Fear River). Both beach communities offer anything from casual “dock and dine” spots to upscale reservations required establishments. Regardless of whether you prefer bathing suits or black tie, endless options await you. The historic downtown river front abounds with history and character. You can drive down cobblestone streets or take a horse-drawn carriage tour and see dozens of restaurants to choose from. All of the restaurants downtown are privately owned and offer an array of unique dining options. Sitting on a riverfront deck along the Cape Fear is a wonderful way to spend a day in downtown Wilmington. Midtown is primarily made up of chain and fast food restaurants that cater to people traveling in and out of the Port City.
In addition to fabulous dining options, Wilmington offers an incredible nightlife scene. From trendy martini/sofa lounges to dance clubs filled with crazy college students, there will many places for you to go and unwind.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about the Wilmington and I will do my absolute best to answer them. I look forward to being your Wilmington Insider!!
