Welcome To Alabama Hospitality
“The Home of Southern Hospitality”
Alabama hospitality has a long tradition, and knows how to party. Although many believe that Mardi Gras is a Louisiana event, but
it was actually the state of Alabama that started the tradition of the Mardi Gras in the U.S.
The solders of Mobile, which was a French Colony in 1703 had just survived a terrible winter and a yellow fever epidemic and decided to celebrate. They painted their faces decorated the fort and unknowingly started a tradition that still thrives today. The group known as Cowbellion de Rakin Society enhanced the event with costumes and a parade in 1840. Now every year throughout the months of February and March Mobile celebrates with music, food, drink, color and fun.
